Browneyes' August art entry

[Browneyes]

ENTRY 1:

I decided to follow the style of the American covers although there are no real people. In the distance on the right hand side you may just be able to make out a Silhouette of a person, I'm leaving it up to you whether you think this is Torak or an other. Also, on the centre tree, there is the mark of the soul eaters. The silhouette is unaware of the mark.

NOTE: My scanner made it much lighter than how I actually drew it.

ENTRY 2:

I have tried a second cover on the computer. This cover is more like the UK covers. Torak is the person with the bow on the front. He is running towards a tree which is to show the deep forest. Next to the title and author is the mark of the soul eaters. On the back cover, the black bird is a raven and therefore represents Renn. The blue swirl is there to show the sea and the grey is the mountains.

Sorry about the white border around the edge of the cover. This is not part of my design.

The scanner made the image look slightly brighter than how I drew it. And, thanks Molly, I was going for a ghostly look.

Congratulations Browneyes, very original your idea and I like that fact that you took a complete twist of what we already have seen. The Soul Eater mark in the tree is very intriguing (and I know what you mean about your picture very lighter when you scanned it, it happens to me when I scan a draw painted with color pencils)

This is very nice. very nice. Although, I'd rather have it a little darker. Yeah, the scanner can be a pain sometimes.

I've yet to see the American version in a store near me. I might have not seen it on the shelf in the bookstore I go to, though. Weird, nonetheless.

But from Wolf Brother to Outcast, I've got the UK version. I prefer them to the US version, too. =D

But yours seems like a mix between the two. I like it.

well done Browneyes! i love both of them, but i rekon the first one is the better one!
