January Writing Results, New Art Competition Theme

Anyway the winner of the January Writing Competition is....

February means the start of a new art competition. The theme for this month is...
A CAVE PAINTING. Let me explain to you what we're looking for in your artwork. You should be trying to depict the everyday life of the people of the CoAD world, whether it's hunting or fishing, Clan meets or their beliefs. Try to make it look old and realistic. There's no point producing a piece of anime art for this month's competition - we want it to look like it's a real cave painting.

Just because we want it to look real doesn't mean you can't be creative though. It's an opportunity for you to research what your drawing, have a look at the way they simplified complicated objects into their cave paintings. It's also an opportunity to try a new media. I'd really love to see someone have a go at producing a mixed media piece to make it look like their actually drawing into rock. Use anything you can get your hands on and try to incorporate it.

Again you can produce anything you like - drawing, painting, etc.

The competition will end on the 26th and the results will be announced on the 1st. Good luck to anyone who enters!

Yeah, with the art competitions you can enter more than once but don't go OTT with your entries. We only allow more entries in the art because it takes less time than it does with the writing to pick out the ones we all like, then when we have a shortlist we can pick a winner from there. So yes you can, but lets make it a max. of 3 entries, alright?

I don't think there is a max. The mods will resize it if it wins to fit the banner.

meh im going to try do a bit everyday on my art entry.
like an outline. then ill photo copy it and try doing different styles. i.e. my felts , my paint , my poster paint blah blah blah.

AOWTW, yes you're allowed to enter the competition again. Can I also just point something else out. If you do enter again and the judges all agree that yours is the best entry then it will win again. Obviously we want everyone to have a chance to win, and if it came down to a final decision between 2 entries we'd probably have to let the other person win that month, but other than that it's a completely unbiased system. Everyone has an equal chance of winning, and just because one month someone produces an amazing story doesn't mean that the next theme will work in their favour.

Yeah, but they need time to judge them, don't they. On the first page of this thread it says the 26th, which was yesterday, unless I'm going crazy, which isn't unlikely...
