Hi, this is my first day here. I was so excited about writing a story I might have missed out some important rules. Is it ok to use the characters from CoAD because my story is a continuation of it. If it's against the rules, please let me know. Thanks.

I have read up to Soul Eater, and so my story continues from there:

So We Meet Again
Torak crept through the forest on silent beaver-hide boots. He was alone, having left Wolf and Renn back at the Raven camp. Usually, he wouldn’t go anywhere without Wolf, but today he had felt a strong desire to be alone, to be with the Forest.

He bent down to study the trail of the buck he was tracking. West, and it was tiring. Soon it would stop to rest and drink.

Torak stood up and continued. He wasn’t hunting today. He wasn’t hungry, and it was against clan law to kill without a reason. He just wanted to be a hunter. To listen to what the forest was telling him. What better way to do so than to track?

Clan law… Torak had broken it. He had killed a hunter. He could still feel the thump-thump of the little heart of the owl in his hands.

In the shade of the oak trees, Torak closed his eyes, and the bitter memories came flooding back. The Soul-Eaters catching him and bonding him to them, the death of the owl at his hands, his journey to the Seal Islands and his encounter with near death…

A trill of a bird broke into Torak’s unhappy thoughts. Shaking his head to clear it, he grimly pushed on, trying to ignore the memories beating at the edge of his consciousness.

There! Just between the trees, drinking at a little stream and oblivious to Torak’s presence was the buck. The sight of it brought back memories of the day when Torak brought down his first large prey. That was after Fa had died.

Torak leant against a tree. He had completely forgotten about the buck. “Oh Fa”, he breathed, “where are you now?”

By the time Torak had finished his reminiscing, the buck was gone, and it was time to head back to the Raven camp. He started to head out, but before he could move more than ten steps, he caught a glimpse of something by the stream through the trees.

Skinboats, and a few lines dangling in the water. The lines didn’t look like any of the Forest clans’. Torak bent down to investigate when suddenly someone from behind pushed his head into the water.

Torak struggled and choked, but his captor was far too strong for him. He felt them tie his wrists together behind him and relieve him of Fa’s knife before they dragged him out of the water. He came up spluttering and full of rage. “Look! I’m so sick of being caught and threatened all the time. Why can’t you just go find someone else?”

His captor said nothing, just jabbed him in the back with a knife. Torak stumbled forward. His hair was dripping in front of his face and blocking his view. “First the Ravens, then the Walker, and not to mention a demon-possessed bear chasing after me”, he muttered darkly under his breath, “and the Forest Horses, the Seals and their mage, and the Soul-Eaters. Have I left anyone out?”

“What have you got there Roy?” a familiar voice asked.

“I caught him lurking near our skinboats and lines”, Roy replied.

A peal of laughter. “Looks like you got yourself caught again, Forest Boy”.

“Let him go Roy, he’s a friend.” Torak could hear the barely concealed amusement in his voice.

Angrily shaking back his hair, Torak rubbed his abused wrists and gaped at the sight of the three broadly grinning faces in front of him. “Bale? Asrif? Detlan? What are you doing in the Forest?”

Bale’s grin faded into a sheepish look. “Well, we were trading with the Salmon and Whale clans, and we thought we’d take a look at the Forest. I mean, after meeting you, we thought that maybe the Forest wasn’t so bad.” Roy snorted, but Bale ignored him. “The thing is, we got lost, and now we’re hungry.”

Now it was Torak’s turn to smile. “I can hunt something for you, then lead you back to the Sea. Come along, just don’t make any noise. The last time you came into the Forest after me, you made so much noise you would have scared away prey a mile off.”

Torak easily tracked down and killed a reindeer, much to the amazement of the Seals. With the help of the Seals, he cooked the meat for them and packed the remainder of the carcass. He smiled, he was getting better at this. Last time, it took ages for him to deal with a carcass properly.

Leading the Seals back down to the Sea, he wondered how Wolf was faring without him. He wished he had brought Wolf. He wanted the Seals to see his magnificent clan creature which they had mocked the last time.

Back in their skinboats on the Sea Mother, Torak and the Seals bid farewell. “Next time,” Torak grinned, “warn me before you come blundering into the Forest so that I can show you around properly”.

“One more word about that, and we’ll dump you on the Rock and see how you survive,” Bale warned.

Torak smiled and waved until the four black dots disappeared into the fading sun. Then he turned and made his solitary way back to the Raven camp, surrounded by the Forest he loved, to be jumped on and nibble-greeted by a frantic Wolf.
