Halloween Writing Competition winner announced, December Art Competition begins...

Well done to everyone who entered last months writing competition - we got some really scary entries which were very fitting for the theme! But there can only be one winner so the Guardians and Nanuak have discussed it and come to the decision that the winner this month is...

Well done, your work will be displayed on the front page (I'll give Nanuak a nudge to get it up on time this month :wink:). The writing competition will be back in the New Year!



Onto the Art Competition. Last month we gave the writers of the Clan an opportunity to get a bit festive and seasonal with a Halloween theme, so no prizes for guessing what this months is going to be for the artists.

WINTER IN THE CoAD WORLD

Remember though, winter back then was no where near as jolly and festive as it is for us now. It was a harsh environment and the weather could get really quite dangerous.

You can draw/paint/photograph/sculpt/etc anything you want as long as it fits the theme. It could be the forest during a snow storm, a character from the books wearing their winter clothing. This month you can really let your imaginations run wild.

The closing date will be the 26th of December and the winner will be announced on New Years day.

What ever you draw has to related to the winter season and just post your art in a new thread in this forum

Guardian Wolf, your questions have pretty much been answered by Corlupa but just to specify... You can draw anything within reason, and it has to be CoAD themed and set in Winter. To enter you just make a new thread in the art competition forum with a link or an attached/embedded picture of your piece.

Think of it more as an art competition, and photography is definately art.

Blackwolf, I'm pretty sure that no one's ever described it as a "drawing" competition. It's always been referred to as an "art" competition. Just because the majority of people draw their entries doesn't make it the only thing you can do.

I'm not going to argue with you if you're one of the people who doesn't think that photography is art. Obviously if you're going to enter a photograph it can't just be any old snap shot; it will have to be a well thought out photograph that's been composed well and has had real effort put into it.
