Firstly I'd like to apologise for the delay in picking a winner - obviously we're going to have to think up a way around the problems we encountered while picking the winner. So sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Secondly, well done to everyone who entered! We had a lot of entries for this competition, but I think we were all quite surprised by the quality that they were all done. Congratulations to everyone who entered.
Anyway, the winner of the first writing competition is... Cajomo!
Well done to him, your piece will be put on the front page within the next few days, and will stay there until the end of the next writing competition.
[For those of you who haven't read his short story it can be read here (http://www.torak.info/forums/showthread.php?t=13130)]

Now, onto the art competition. The theme for this competition is going to be quite a lot different to last time so that we can get a broader perspective of all the different styles the Clanners have. So for this month we've decided that we're going to do a particular scene from one of the books - this sort of theme may reoccur in the months to come but it won't be the same every time.
The scene for the second art competition is...
Wolf fighting the demon bear on the slopes of the Mountain of the World Spirit
(From Wolf Brother)
You have until the 26th to produce your art and submit it in it's own thread onto this forum - if you have any questions then please ask. The winner will be announced (hopefully!!) on the 1st. I'll post a reminded closer to the date to make sure we don't have any late entries this time.
Some ideas on how to succeed in this months competition:
Try to do you work in a different style - if you normally draw anime how about drawing realism, etc.
Try a different medium - your work doesn't have to be a graphite sketch, use paints, mixed media, digital art, etc.
Your work doesn't have to be figurative - if you want you can go for a more surreal or abstract approach, but as long as what you do is to do with the theme.
Obviously you don't need to follow the guides, and those aren't what all of the judges will want to see - these are just some simple points that I would like to see attempted at some point through these competitions.
Good luck to everyone who enters!
