alright, i hope its not too long and that people wont get bored reading!

Beag sighed; Ma was in a trance, where she became a strange, distant person. Sashki-Nanlo, Beag’s brother walked in and dumped his pack on a rock, ignoring the yelp of pain and fright that issued from within.
“Fox cub.” He grunted and sat down next to his sister and as he waited for his mother to be released from her trance he looked at her with awe, unlike Beag, who’s face was filled with boredom, sadness, and despair.
30 minutes went by before their mother; the Eagle Owl Mage looked down at them, her face expressionless, back to her normal self. She looked to the bag and pointed at Sashki-Nanlo.
“Go kill it” her voice rang out through the dark cave and made Beag shiver with displeasure. Beag’s mother was very fair to her, she knew that, but she also knew that she could never be as heartless, or has cruel as the Eagle-owl mage.
Sashki rose a knife held aloft, an evil grin twisted upon his gleeful face. The fox cub looked up with big, frightened eyes, begging for his mother. Sash noticed none of this and advanced slowly, loving being in power.
This was too much for Beag who, with a small cry, jumped up and ran out of the cave as far as she could go until she reached a small stream. There she lay down and began to sob softly, her mother and brother were both Soul-Eaters and Beag still being taught. They were both fair to her, though they didn’t seem to understand that Beag did not want to be a Soul-Eater.
She sighed and followed the stream until it widened into a merry, bubbling river. She stood, wondering whether it was worth the risk to bathe her grimy body in the sparkling water. Finally she wiped away her tears and began to undress.
The mark on her chest was big and bright, “as if it couldn’t be more obvious” thought Beag, she detested it more than ever. She walked slowly into the water, forever casting nervous glances about in case someone came along and saw the mark on her chest, a three-pronged fork for snaring souls. The mark of the Soul-Eaters.
She lay on her back, with her hands covering her chest and floated wherever the river took her. She closed her eyes and began to daydream of when she was little and they all lived in the Clan.
A rustling in a tree above her made Beag raise her head and stare up, she let her hands drop and she froze, the rustling became more agitated. “Oh no” thought Beag “Now they can see the mark” Fear gripped her heart like a hand of ice. She waited for the hunters to come down and kill her. Time stretched, then two Sea Eagles flew out of the tree and landed with a thud in the mud on the riverbank.
That’s strange, what are two Sea Eagles doing this far in land? Beag stared at them; there was a male and a female. They appeared to be staring right at her. That scared Beag, but she was relieved they weren’t hunters. Then something really strange happened.
The male opened his beak and began to talk in a slow, croaky voice…
“Beag, my name is Mergle, at this is my mate Cretna, at this time of need we have come to help you defeat the Soul-Eaters, for I am your Clan guardian. Do you accept my help?”
Beag’s jaw dropped, how could the Sea Eagle understand her, or how could she understand him? This was a blessing from the World Spirit, it had to be!
Beag found her voice and managed to stammer out a few words.
“How can you talk the tongue of the Clans? And you cannot be my Clan guardian, for my Clan is Eagle Owl, not Sea Eagle!” Then she stepped out of the water and began dressing. The birds hopped a little further back to give her space. Then Cretna began to talk in a slightly higher pitched croaky voice.
“ Many, may summers and winters ago when you were a few days old your mother and father were tricked by the Eagle Owl mage into giving her their only child. Been honourable people they were forced to give you up, the Eagle Owl Mage is not your mother, nor her son your brother, you must stop them before they rule the forest, only you can, with our help of course”
Beag yanked on her boots and stood, the information had bewildered, but also relieved her. It felt right, she had never felt like a true member of the family, and now she knew why.
“O.K” She said, filled with confidence “I can do this!” She stood and began to walk towards her destiny.
“Wait, I have something to give you!” Mergle flew back into the tree and came out holding something.

Beag stood at the mouth of the cave, her companions sitting above on the roof. She faced the people who no longer meant anything to her.
“Go!” She told them “And forget your title, if you wish to live you will leave your plans and go into hiding. I give you one chance, take it” Shashki-Nano laughed and walked over to beat her. Beag smiled, brought out her newly sharpened nails and slashed him. Then the fight began.
Beag fended them both of with abnormally strong kicks, slashes and elbows. Soon the Soul- Eaters lay at the back of the cave tired and wounded. Hatred filled Beag and she moved in to kill, this woman had taken her from her family, and this woman would pay!
“No” Mergle and Cretan alighted on her shoulders, their claws gripping the tough pieces of hide she had put on that Mergle had given her. “You’re to good for them, don’t kill them”
Beag looked on disgusted “You’re right” And she vanished into the Forest to protect it with her faithful Clan Guardian.
