Ripped Soul
Aurelia padded through the forest silently. The stars were twinkling in the sky, the full moon shone out in the night, illuminating the forest, but not showing her the amber eyes, glowing in the darkness as if they were alight. She fingered her clan creature skin; she loved her clan creature, the brave and majestic wolf. She walked onwards, not noticing the wolf stalking her.
Until it pounced. in a frenzy of razor-sharp claws and teeth, she dodged wildly left but its claws still ripped through the skin, drawing blood. Aurelia gasped in pain and her eyes were fearful, and yet, also confused. Why was her clan guardian attacking her? A glint of red passed over the wolf’s otherwise perfectly amber eyes before it attacked again. Aurelia drew her blade and met the wolf, head on as it flew through the air. Her blade swished left, then right, before the wolf moved away, wrenching it from her hand. As she looked she saw that her beautiful, black slate knife was still embedded in the wolf. She gasped, seeing the tension build up in his hind legs; it was going to pounce again. She swiftly drew her bow and arrow and shot at it. Three arrows in the chest, two in the front legs, one between the eyes; and that was when the demon possessing the wolf chose to leave the dieing creature.
Aurelia fell to her knees, tears falling down her cheeks, finally she realised what she had done…she had killed her clan guardian…
Aurelia cleaned up the blood and sorted the wolf out, making sure to use everything. She felt for her clan creature skin and she tore it off her top. She didn’t deserve to call herself a wolf clanner…She didn’t deserve to call herself anything other than a killer really. She saw a pair of bright red eyes, and a pair of green ones glinting in the darkness. Human eyes “Who’s there?” she asked, scared. Two people stepped out of the undergrowth, one help a snarling wolf at the end of a rope. She gasped as they spoke in unison
“We are here to help you out of your…” they looked at each other “Predicament” Aurelia raised her eyebrows at them
“What makes you think I need help?” she countered, she had been angered by the sight of the wolf, it reminded her of the one she had just shoddily cut up for future food.
“I think that’s rather obvious” said the one with red eyes and blonde hair. She pulled up her sleeve and showed the three pronged mark of the soul-eaters…
Aurelia cried out in fear and fell backwards, tripping over a tree root she could have sworn wasn’t there a second ago.
The green eyed soul-eater with dark brown hair lent over to her and said “Your clan will no longer accept you, what do you have to lose?” she asked “By joining us?” Aurelia looked into the woman’s bright green eyes and her thought of resistance seemed to fade away, she had been silly, these lovely people were right, she should join the soul-eaters. She ignored the blood dripping steadily out of her side and stood up
“I shall join you.” She said in a dreamy voice. The blonde one nodded and turned to her companion “Nice technique.” She said, clearly impressed. She quickly got a bandage out of her pack along with some herbs. She placed the herbs over the girls wound and then tied the bandage round her
“I didn’t do anything” said green eyes “She expected to be hypnotised so she did it herself.”
A beautiful, yet deadly grey wolf burst through the bushes, followed by its pack. It snarled at the tailless’
‘Let them go’ in wolf, but obviously, they couldn’t understand. The wolf wondered why these creatures were idiotic enough to capture a wolf and not think that the wolf’s pack would come after them. They had captured the alpha female after all.
The wolves attacked, a wild mass of teeth and claws accompanied by blood curling howls. The one at the end of the tether yanked itself free and joined in the fighting.
Over an hour later two, half eaten bodies, one with blonde hair, one with brown, lay on the forest floor, clearly dead. Near them lay a dieing body they had not dared eat. Aurelia coughed and blood poured out over her clothes. She knew she was dieing, and dieing without death marks too. She sighed unhappily and yelled her final words out into the gloomy forest “Forgive me brother wolf!” She shuddered once, then was still forever more. Dead.
Not great I know but I had a try.
