Today I was trying to catch some trout in a stream in the forest. Not only did I not catch any fish for hours, but as night began to fall I fell in the stream! No big deal, right? Well it is if the current catches you and there is a waterfall right downstream! I was washed over and must have hit about a dozen rocks on the way down; I was lucky I did not break my head wide open! In the churning pool at the bottom I finally got spat out by a whirlpool and struggled to gain the bank. That's when I noticed the children from a neighboring clan were playing by the stream. They recognized me at once, so of course instead of helping me they started jeering and throwing rocks at me! I was lucky to escape alive!
As darkness fell, I finally dragged myself back to where I had been fishing, desperate for some food and a fire, to soothe my cuts and bruises with some salve, only to find someone had stolen every last bit of my gear, and broken my bow and thrown it in a tree where I would be hard pressed to get the string back. And thats when I got to thinking: why me?
